1 entire bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon (the good stuff you drink!)
3 28oz cans tomato sauce
2 28oz cans diced, peeled tomatoes
1 small can tomato paste
1 entire fresh bulb garlic (roughly chopped)
1 onion (roughly chopped)
2 tbsp Italian Seasoning
*2 tbsp fresh, chopped Oregano
*2 tbsp fresh, chopped Basil
Combine all ingredients into a pot and simmer 4-6 hours (depending on how thick of a sauce you want). It’s
recommended to cook the sauce for the first couple hours with the top off the pot to allow it to reduce. About 30 minutes
before serving, add the chopped Oregano and Basil (fresh spices tend to break down if you add them too early).
(Meatballs and/or fresh Italian (hot) sausage can be added to make a heartier, spicier sauce)
