Super Deal For the week of
April 26th
Peltier Station from Lodi CA.
If you have never had these wines and you like big full bodied reds with a powerful fruit structure then here is a great deal. Peltier Station with the Choo Choo on the label is a real power house in red Lodi wines. The Petite Syrah was the first red we carried and is now a real mainstay for zin, big shiraz and fruit forward red blend lovers. We now have their Cabernet and the Zin so to introduce them to you here is the deal:
The Zin reg $17
This is not your average Zin! It starts off with subtle hints of cherry and berry aromas which explode onto your palate to highlight the berry families presence. Enhanced with white pepper, exotic spices and balanced tannins, the finish is covered with black licorice notes, lingering for minutes.
Try blue cheese or rich foie gras with this intense 2006 Zinfandel.
The Cab reg $15
With a dark ruby red color, this wine presents aromas of green pepper followed by an explosive mid-pallet of raspberry and blackberry flavors, finishing with perfectly well-balanced tannins. When the final flavors seeps away in your mouth, you’re left with a lingering coating of dark chocolate.
This Cabernet Sauvignon will pair beautifully with a juicy rib eye steak, a succulent roast leg of lamb or a hearty pasta dish.
The Petite Syrah reg $17
This wine features an aroma of wild berries, caramel, pepper and earth. It has a full middle body and finishes with you asking for more.
6 pack price-2 of each =$88
12 pack -4 of each =$169
Need a white in the mix?? Substitute the Peltier rich & full bodied Viognier-major melon and honeysuckle for any red!

Mmmmm..Aussie Riesling!
From WJ comes

Pewsey Vale "PRIMA" Riesling (Eden Valley, Australia 2007) $25 all discounts included!

This will be in next week so pre order now! Very limited to VA!

"Innovation finally leads to the birth of Prima" writes James Halliday

"This Riesling (96 points,) is like a stealth bomber but unarmed (it has only 9.5 per cent alcohol). The stealth comes from the realization you have consumed a bottle when you go to pour what you think is a second (or perhaps third) glass. The only equivalent I can think of is a bottle of chilled, fresh Spanish manzanilia sherry, which I have banned from my cellar on the grounds of addiction. Prima has a magical balance of sweetness and acidity, the sweetness apparent in the intense lime juice of the mid-palate but washed away by the crisp acidity of the finish, making another sip, or a mouthful, essential. For the record, it has 22g/l of residual grape sugar and 7.7g/l of acid to go with its alcohol. The 2008 Prima is underway."

James Halliday, The Weekend Australian (Aus), 22-23 March 2008

But I want some Aussie Riesling NOW!!!
Ok to hold you over we just tried The Marquis 2007 Riesling. This is such a value in dry Aussie Riesling. A touch of sweetness that is balanced by crisp acidity that screams for hearty chicken dishes or an afternoon on the deck.
$10.75

Pinot heads! Check this out!
Rasmussen Single Vineyard Carneros 2006 $29 very limited!
When you smell this wine you will think of black cherries, mushrooms, licorice, raspberries and vanilla. The taste carries these characters, but adds a rich and round mouthfeel that makes the wine truly a pleasure to drink. This is not a fruit bomb CA style pinot but rather has true elegance that makes Pinot Noir so special.

Jade Mountain La Provencal 2005 CA $16
This is a cool new wine! 2005 La Provençale has a ripe, raspberry nose with hints of vanilla, anise and spicy clove. It is soft and smooth on the palate, with bright flavors of plum and raspberry accented by exotic spice notes. Delicious served slightly chilled as an apéritif, it also shines with food. Enjoy this special wine with veal, baked ham or grilled tuna. Sort of a CA style Chat du Pape...well sort of!
